The Workers' Party (Turkey) has become hope for Egypt and Turkey

Yunus Soner, Chairman of the International Relations Bureau of the Workers' Party (Turkey) held a press conference.

Yunus Soner, Chairman of the International Relations Bureau of the Workers' Party (Turkey) held a press conference today, the 11th of November 2014.

The full text of the press conference is below.

Turkey and Egypt are two of the main pillars in the region. Both countries share are a long common history and culture, and have wide range mutual economic interests.

Today, Egypt and Turkey are facing common threats: the national sovereignty of both countries are being threaten by foreign powers, both countries are struggling against regional instability, both countries are struggling against separatist terror internally and are looking for a way for economic development.

Our countries are objectively allies!
Therefore, the tensions between Turkey and Egypt are against the interests of both nations and serve external powers.

Egypt is looking to Turkey
The widespread repercussions of the Workers’ Party’s visit to Egypt, shows it clearly. Dozens of press members and at least three national TV channels attended the joint press conference that we held together with Mr. Sayed el Badavey, Chairman of the Al Wafd Party – one of the political parties with the longest tradition in Egypt.

The news that Egypt made an alliance with Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration are exaggerated. Just a negotiation process between the three countries has begun. The President of Egypt Abdel Fettah el-Sisi has, in the press conference, persistently left questions about the future of Cyprus unanswered.

Herewith, we call the Turkish press not to become a tool of Greek propaganda. Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration presented Egypt the proposal to defend its interests in the EU. Our counterparts did not take this proposal serious.

Our Egyptian counterparts are aware of the state tradition of Turkey, its regional importance and economic power. The only thing that the AKP government has to do is to stop interfering in the internal affairs of Egypt.
Thusly, the way will be paved for an alliance that could change the fate of the Middle East.

Those, who wish the normalization of Turkish-Egyptian relations and the defence of the interests of our country in the Eastern Mediterranean, are looking to the Workers’ Party (Turkey).

And as the Workers’ Party (Turkey) we have assumed the responsibility for this and we will further do so.

We established a representation of the Workers’ Party (Turkey) in Egypt.

In our visit to Egypt, we have met with the Tagammu and Al Wafd Parties, who are represented in the Egyptian Parliament and with the Egyptian Socialist Party. We came to a consensus on issues of territorial integrity, national unity and regional solidarity.

We established relations with Egyptian daily newspapers like Al Youm Al Saba, Al Wafd and Al Ahram and with leading TV channels like On TV and CBC.

We will send a delegation consisting of several political parties to Egypt in order to improve the relations between the two countries, as soon as possible. The delegation will consist of business man, retired diplomats and of representatives of different political parties.

Our Egyptian counterparts have already announced this delegation to the press. They are eagerly awaiting us.

What Egypt actually waits for is the unification of the Eastern Mediterranean against foreign threats.

The Workers’ Party (Turkey) will realize this!
