A Workers’ Party (Turkey) delegation, headed by the Chairman of the International Relations Bureau Mr. Yunus Soner, conducted a three-day visit to Russia on an invitation. The delegation participated in a symposium organized by the State Duma in Moscow, were guests on Russian TV’s, met with parliamentarians and visited the graveyard of the Turkish revolutionary poet Nazim Hikmet who had died in Russia in 1963 while being in exile.
The Coloured Revolutions Symposium
Soner participated in the symposium titled “Coloured Revolutions as a history and political science phenomenon” organized jointly by the State Duma and various Russian strategic research institutes. Besides Russia, experts from Germany, Italy, Moldova and England took part in the event.
In the symposium where the current rouble crisis was among the issues on the agenda, Soner pointed out that “the coloured revolutions were targeting the multipolar world”. Emphasizing that the dollar crisis implies the shrinking of the Atlantic system, Soner put forward that there will be divergences and breaking off’s from the American financial markets and that this will constitute an opportunity for the south-south and Eurasian integration.
Interview on Russian TV
After the symposium, Soner has been hosted by the national TV channel Ren TV. In the one-hour TV program, the moderator asked questions especially about the operation against the Gulen movement and Soner explained the relations between Gulen, CIA and Tayyip Erdogan.
The latest developments in the Middle East were also dealt with in the TV program. Soner made statements on the sources of reactionary and separatist terror and emphasized that the separation process Turkey was facing has come an end.
Meeting with the Parliamentarian
Mr. Soner, had a meeting with the Russian parliamentarian Mr. Fedorov Yevgeni Alekseyevic, as well. The sides agreed on cooperating with the purpose of getting rid of the dollar dependency of Turkey and Russia. They decided on a workshop where economists of both countries will participate.
Visit to Nazim Hikmet’s Graveyard
The Workers’ Party delegation also visited Nazim Hikmet’s graveyard in Moscow and left a note on behalf of Turkey, saying:

In his statement made after his return to Turkey, Soner said “Relations with Russia have a vital importance for the independence and the stability of our country and the region. Our counterparts in Moscow are also well aware of our mutual interests and are ready to collaborate. Due to the strengthening of our organization in Russia, mutual visits and areas of cooperation will increase in the near future”.
